B Corp Month is an annual, global campaign. Every year during March, B Lab and the global B Corp community join together to celebrate everything it means to be a B Corp.

B Corp certification is verification that a business is meeting high standards of accountability, transparency and performance on factors such as employee benefits and charitable giving.

To achieve this, a company must

• Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing our risk review. Multinational corporations must also meet baseline requirement standards.

• Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve benefit corporation status if available in their jurisdiction.

• Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.

Our B Corp Certification

Haeckels certified as a B Corp in December 2022, 2 years after starting our impact assessment. We’re incredibly proud of the progress we made to reach certification but this isn’t the end. As part of the certification, we must continuously improve at each recertification so we’re working hard to keep moving forward.

How are we celebrating this month?

Window Display

Our store window displays this year are bird arrows all flying ‘This Way Forward’. This month is about showing the world how we move forward together because B Corp certification isn’t a destination. It’s an invitation to join the journey to better business. We’re not afraid to gear up for change, course-correct as issues evolve and choose to keep moving forward, whatever it takes.

Beach and Park Cleans

We started on the beach back in 2013 when Haeckels was formed and since then we’ve protected our environment. We’re continuing our beach and park clean’s this month but we’ve also invited our local B Corp friends to join us. This is a great chance to meet local businesses all working together. Come along, collect some rubbish and we will give you some free bits as a thank you! Dogs and kids are more than welcome!
