Our Mission is to Do Good Business, For All of Us.
Every movement begins with a single step – or, in our case, a single piece of seaweed.
In 2012, Dom Bridges, a volunteer beach warden with a vision, began questioning the beauty industry's status quo. Instead of accepting the conventional approach to skincare, he started experimenting in his family kitchen, using seaweed hand-harvested from Margate's shores. After finding every saucepan transformed into an impromptu lab vessel, his wife Jo encouraged him to turn this passion into something bigger.
That kitchen experiment has grown into something extraordinary. From our humble beginnings in a small lab on Cliff Terrace in 2013, we've evolved into a movement redefining what responsible business can look like. But some things never change – we're still crafting products by hand, harvesting seaweed from our local shores, and putting community first.
In 2022, we achieved B Corp certification, joining a global community of businesses using profit as a force for good. This wasn't just a badge for us – it was a commitment to do better, be better, and help others do the same. As we prepare for our B Corp recertification, we're pushing boundaries, questioning norms, and asking ourselves: how can we better serve our community, our planet, and all of us?
What began in a Margate kitchen has become a global movement, but our heart remains rooted in our coastal community. Every product we craft still tells the story of our shores, educating and inspiring people around the world about the power of natural ingredients and conscious consumption.
Because for us, growth isn't just about getting bigger – it's about getting better. Better for our community, better for our planet, and better for all of us.

People Care.
As a global community our human rights come before the planet. We intend to make it easy for people to do good. Evolving products into a supportive system, providing skincare, bodycare, nutrition and nutrient dense food supplies for our customer. We will engage our customers as Citizens, involving them in our journey and our decisions making.
Planet Care.
We will strive to be the best example of a zero waste infrastructure, zero plastic, circles of waste management, recycling of bioplastics and composting of bioplastics both re-entering a closed system of zero waste. We want to assist our clients with their waste management be it ingredient or material making it the centre of the proposed project. We will endeavour to educate in whatever institution we find ourselves to ensure a better way is explored for the sake of protecting the environment. We will be part of our planetary community wherever we go.
Fair Share.
To ensure all involved are included, represented, protected and above all nurtured. We will grow into supportive system, creating citizens not consumers. An ecosystem that redisputes its surplus to the rest of the community whilst clearing, illustrating that business longevity is built upon sharing. We will always work for the balance of best value for citizen and right price to support our business to grow and amplify our mission beyond the shores of Margate.
Over a decade ago, some thought I was unconventional, even a little crazy, for the strong ideas about sustainability and responsible beauty. I am still a little crazy and I absolutely love what we do - and I want to share it with as many people as possible.
