The purpose of this VTCT accredited qualification is to develop your skills in facial electrotherapy to a high level of occupational ability, enabling you to perform electrical facials on your clients. You will expand on your existing skill in facial treatment and become qualified to offer the benefits of electrical facials to your clients.

Prerequisites: Level 2 Beauty qualification. Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Max class size: 4 students

Home study: Students enrolled on this course are independent learners (i.e. self motivated and responsible for their own learning). It is essential that you are able to dedicate a minimum of 6 additional hours per week to independent home study. This time should be used for study of theory content, coursework, exam revision and practice of practical skills.

Further details: Hot drink making facilities are provided.  Lunch break is 30 minutes. We advise students to bring a packed lunch with them.

Qualification Information

The VTCT Level 3 Award in Facial Electrotherapy is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; how to provide facial electrical treatments.

You will develop a sound knowledge of  how to apply electrical facials using micro-current, EMS, galvanic, lymphatic drainage equipment and direct and indirect high frequency. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.  

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.

  • Contraindications and unwanted reactions to treatment
  • Anatomy and physiology

Forms of assessment

Students are assessed through a combination of written coursework, written exams and practical observations.
