Margate Pride is a culture rich contemporary Pride. A celebration of all of Thanet’s queerness and LGBTQI life. Gay, straight, everything, nothing and all the in-between.

About Margate Pride

This year we see the 3rd annual Margate Pride which has grown in size every year to become one of the most important events in our community. Taking place on Saturday 11th August the day long celebration begins with street party and parade.

The parade will begin at the historic Walpole Bay Hotel and will follow a route through the Eastern Esplanade, Cliff Terrace and past our shop and then leading down The Parade and finishing at Marine Drive.

Throughout the day there are street parties and events planned throughout the town continuing to the after parties being held at The Lido with Cockles and Muscles and Dreamland.

Margate Pride CIC is a not for profit community interest company led by LGBTQIA artists to celebrate the diversity of love in Margate. They are developing relationships with schools, residential homes, community groups, local businesses and individuals throughout the town to make it an important part of the fabric of the town.

On the day expect homemade bunting and upcycled costumes rather than corporate branding.
